About Eric
I've been studying all areas of math for my entire life. I have a Bachelor of Science in business with a focus on accounting. I graduated Summa cum Laude from Herzing University in Wisconsin in 2020, and I've been tutoring local students ever since.
When I'm not tutoring, I'm either preparing taxes and books for small business owners or managing my sports stats websites and social media pages.
I'm passionate about people, and there's nothing I love more than watching the moment something "clicks" with somebody, whether that be in the classroom, in the accounting office, on the soccer pitch, or on the baseball diamond.
I would love to be the person that helps mathematics "click" for you!

My typical teaching methods are different for each student. Some students need real-world examples in order to understand mathematics, and some will just need practice and repetition, so it's important to understand how each student works in order to create lesson plans for them.
A typical tutoring session with me will begin with a conversation about the student themselves. This gives me a little bit of information on the student's struggles with mathematics and the things they understand about it. From there, we will proceed to dive into the work. Where most tutors struggle is diving into the work and flying through it without checking for understanding at important milestones. I come equipped with a range of games, activities, and "math tricks" for all ages that not only teach the student how to perform arithmetical functions but also build a passion for mathematics in the student. We will wind down with an understanding check, and if there's anything that the student is "shaky" on, we will go back over until there is a decent understanding of the course work.
What sets me apart from other tutors is the way that I level with the student. In my experience, most tutors will use basic examples that the student may or may not care about. For example, one of my most recent students was a basketball player who was struggling with geometry. I was able to equate all of his coursework to basketball, such as the application of the Pythagorean theorem in the triangle offense and the arc of the ball after a shot. Students understand their coursework much better when they're given real-life examples of the application of the coursework, so I go out of my way to help the student understand the importance of math and numbers in their own language.
My knowledge base ranges from the most basic level of mathematics to the most advanced statistical formulae, so I'd love to have a conversation about helping you or your loved one to succeed in the craziness that mathematics and numbers can be.

I've used Eric for both of my girls as math tutors. My oldest just graduated from college with honors, and my youngest graduated salutatorian from high school this past May. Both of them owe a lot of their success to Eric, as he's the only tutor that they've ever had that's been able to teach them in a way that they understand and comprehend.
I would highly suggest Eric for all of your math and accounting tutoring!View more recommendations
