Hello, I’m Lucy Warutumo, a certified TEFL Essentials course graduate with a passion for helping learners speak English clearly, naturally, and without fear. My Teaching Method & Techniques
I use a communicative and student-centered approach, meaning you learn by actually using English – not just memorizing rules. My techniques include:
Task-based learning (solving real-world problems in English)
Scaffolding (building from simple to complex with my support)
Error correction through guided self-discovery (so you remember corrections naturally)
Multisensory activities (visuals, audio, movement, and role-play)
A Typical Lesson Plan (60 minutes)
Warm-up (5–7 min) – Quick speaking game or review of previous topic.
Presentation (10–12 min) – Introduce 5–7 new vocabulary items or one grammar point using pictures, short dialogues, or a mini-story.
Practice (15 min) – Controlled exercises like gap-fills, matching, or repetition drills.
Production (20 min) – Real-life task: ordering food, describing a photo, solving a problem in pairs.
Cool-down & feedback (5–8 min) – Quick quiz, error recap, and setting a tiny homework challenge.

Details
To help you plan ahead, my hourly teaching fee includes all custom-prepared materials: worksheets, digital flashcards, short readings, and speaking activities tailored to your level. You won’t pay extra for lesson resources.
If we decide to meet in a physical classroom (rather than online or at a public library), any venue booking fee would be added separately. For online lessons, there is no additional cost just a stable internet connection on your side.
I also offer small package discounts (e.g., 5 or 10 lessons paid in advance) to support regular learners. Feel free to ask about this when you inquire no pressure, just transparency.
