About Mica

I’m a dedicated tutor with over eight years of experience in education, supporting students with a range of needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This background has shaped my passion for teaching and my belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their starting point or individual challenges. My teaching journey began in roles where I helped students overcome barriers to learning, and it was there that I discovered the joy of breaking down complex ideas into steps that anyone can understand. Supporting students to build their confidence, develop resilience, and realise their potential has always been at the heart of what I do. I became a teacher because I truly believe in the transformative power of education. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students gain not just knowledge but also the skills and self-assurance to thrive academically and beyond. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where every student can achieve their best.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is designed to make learning clear, effective, and tailored to your individual needs. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, ensuring each new concept builds on what you already know. This helps to create a strong foundation while boosting your confidence and understanding as we progress. I place a strong emphasis on exam preparation, using real exam questions to help you see how topics are applied in a variety of contexts. This approach not only strengthens your understanding but also prepares you to handle questions involving abstract concepts, particularly in science. Together, we’ll practise structuring answers, refining techniques, and developing strategies to approach high-mark and “can-do” questions effectively. My aim is to make every lesson engaging, relevant, and focused on helping you connect your knowledge to real-world and theoretical applications. By combining clear teaching with targeted exam practice, I equip you with the skills and confidence to succeed.
