About Christine

Throughout my experience as a classroom teacher, I have worked with a wide range of learners and understand the importance of building relationships, strong foundations, and a positive attitude towards learning. I pride myself on creating a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and take risks. I like to differentiate and adapt lessons to suit each child’s learning style, strengths, and areas for growth. I am currently furthering my professional development by studying psychology and working as a part-time substitute teacher, which strengthens my understanding of child development, learning behaviors, and effective educational strategies. I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential and supporting them to develop both academic skills and self-confidence. Families can feel assured that I am professional, well-prepared, and genuinely committed to each student’s success.

About the lesson

I offer personalized, supportive tutoring for Year 1–6 students, with a strong focus on building confidence, understanding, and a genuine love of learning. With 7.5 years of classroom teaching experience, I understand how children learn at different stages and how to adapt lessons to meet individual needs. I also have a good understanding of the NZ curriculum, the updated version as well. My teaching approach is structured but flexible. I use clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and plenty of positive reinforcement to help students grasp concepts at their own pace. Lessons often include a mix of revision, new learning, hands-on activities, and practice tasks, ensuring students stay engaged while strengthening key skills. My lessons are designed for primary school students (Years 1–6) who may need extra support, confidence-building, or extension to reach their full potential in a calm and encouraging environment.
