I am tied as the #1 most effective teaching faculty in my neuroscience department at a top 10 school. I've helped people get into med school and residency, some of which were reapplicants. Everybody can get a 520 and everybody has a standout story for their personal statement. It's just about removing your limiting factors and playing to your strengths; I am tied for the highest rate teaching effectiveness in my department for doing so.
My priority is finding your limiting factors. Not just going through content review like most others (you have the internet for that!). This method can boost your score 10 points in weeks.
In a typical lesson, I study how you tackle a problem—everyone is different—and there is inevitably a silly habit that once address, instantly boosts your score. And we do that over and over again.
For personal statements, I bring out the vividness of your life to the page. You do the rest. It's simple and it works.
