I take a friendly, patient and individual approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student’s current level and the areas they find most challenging. I focus on building a clear understanding of the underlying concepts rather than simply memorising methods, using worked examples, questions and plenty of opportunities for the student to explain their own thinking.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although I can be flexible depending on the student’s needs. I can help with learning new topics, consolidating classwork, preparing for assessments and exams, and working through difficult questions.
I have around 2 years of tutoring experience, including tutoring Maths and English to younger students and supporting students through volunteer tutoring. I teach National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Maths and Computing Science.
