My approach to tutoring elementary English centers on a "discovery-first" methodology, where I use the Socratic method to guide students into uncovering the "why" behind language rules rather than simply memorizing them. In a typical session, we begin with a 20-minute "Basics" segment! Using visual examples and guided questioning to demystify grammar, followed by 30 minutes of creative writing where students immediately apply those concepts to their own stories. What sets me apart is this focus on transforming students into confident authors by celebrating "aha!" moments and connecting lessons to their personal interests, making the writing process feel like a creative endeavor rather than a chore. These lessons are designed specifically for elementary-aged students who are building foundational skills and need a supportive, interactive environment to develop their voice and technical accuracy.
