About Alishba

Hello! My name is Ms. Alishba Shahzad, and I am a TEFL-certified English Language & Literature tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience. I am currently pursuing my BS in English Literature, and my academic background, combined with extensive teaching experience, allows me to support students across a wide range of ages, levels, and curricula.

Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with students from Primary and Secondary levels through GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB, supporting learners following British, Cambridge and Edexcel curricula. I have taught students from different countries and educational backgrounds, adapting my approach to suit their individual abilities, academic goals, and learning needs.

My passion for teaching comes from seeing students develop from hesitant learners into confident readers, writers, speakers, and independent thinkers. I believe that every student has potential, but sometimes they simply need the right guidance, encouragement, and learning strategy to unlock it. This is why I focus not only on improving grades but also on building genuine understanding and confidence.

My teaching experience extends beyond conventional tutoring. Alongside teaching English Language and Literature, I have worked as a worksheet creator, academic writer, story writer, and educational content designer, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and create engaging, purposeful learning materials.

I have also been recognized as Teacher of the Month for my dedication and contribution to teaching. I take pride in creating lessons that are structured yet engaging, academically focused yet supportive, and always centered around the student's progress.

About the lesson

I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I tailor each lesson to their individual level, goals, learning style, and academic requirements. As a TEFL-certified English Language and Literature tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and across a wide range of ages and abilities—from primary learners developing their foundations to GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB students preparing for important examinations.

My lessons are designed to be interactive, structured, and purposeful. Rather than simply giving students answers, I focus on helping them understand how to approach a task independently. Whether you need to improve your spoken English, strengthen grammar and vocabulary, develop reading comprehension, master creative or academic writing, or prepare for an examination, we will identify your areas of difficulty and work on them step by step.

For younger learners, I use engaging activities, guided practice, stories, discussions, and age-appropriate exercises to make learning enjoyable while building strong foundations. For secondary and examination students, I place greater emphasis on exam techniques, critical thinking, essay structure, textual analysis, writing skills, and understanding assessment requirements. I can also adapt lessons to different curricula, including British Curriculum, Cambridge, Edexcel, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, and IB.

A typical lesson begins with a short review or warm-up, followed by focused instruction and guided practice. Students then apply what they have learned through speaking, writing, reading, analysis, or examination-style tasks. I provide constructive feedback throughout the lesson and explain not only what needs improvement, but how to improve it.

My teaching approach is friendly, patient, encouraging, and academically focused. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and expressing their ideas because mistakes are an important part of learning. At the same time, I challenge my students to think independently, communicate confidently, and gradually become less dependent on their tutor.

I also believe that effective tutoring is not simply about achieving a better grade, it is about developing skills that students can continue using beyond the classroom. My goal is to help every student become a more confident communicator, stronger reader, clearer writer, and more independent learner.
