About Laura
Hi! I'm Laura and I'm from Maryland, in the United States. I'm a native English speaker who loves languages and traveling! I received my TEFL certification in 2023 and have been teaching online since the beginning of 2025. I have students from all over the world and of all different ages ranging from 6 years old to 70! I offer a personalized teaching experience, whatever your goals are with English, we will work on them together :)

I'm very passionate about helping anyone achieve their language goals. I'm excited to tailor a program to you! I'm a writer and studied English Literature and Storytelling in college. If you want to improve your reading and writing skills I'm the teacher for you! I would be happy to help you with that tricky English grammar that's been keeping you from writing and speaking the way you want to. In my classes I use a mix of textbooks and native speaker materials. I always start each class with a casual conversation. I give my students homework and go over it during the following class. Information on materials I use for class: A1 - C1: National Geographic World textbooks for Grammar, Reading, Listening and Speaking All levels: Grammar in Use for reviewing and learning new grammar, and for grammar exercises B1 + B2: Books written for native English speakers such as the Who is ...? and the What was ...? series, about famous people and famous events. C1 + C2: Newspaper and Magazine articles written for Native English speakers from sources such as the New York Times, National Geographic, and New York Magazine Podcasts: A1 + A2: Easy English from BBC B1 + B2: 6 Minute English and English in the News C1 + C2: This American Life and Serial I look forward to meeting you!
