About Cyrus

Hello,
My name is Cyrus. I graduated from university with a bachelor's degree in psychology and communications in 2025 and then completed a 120-hour TEFL course and began to teach English at a language center in Vietnam. In my free time, I like to paint, cook, play sports, and travel. I am a native English speaker and can speak limited German and some Indonesian. I am currently located in the United States but can figure out a schedule that works for any time zone. Given my teaching experience and academic studies, if you are excited to learn English, I might be the right teacher for you!

Vocabulary and fluency: Want to use words and phrases like a native speaker would, rather than getting weird looks when you use a phrase in the wrong context? I can explain and help you to understand the many confusing sayings and metaphors that are found in the English language, making your conversation partner think that you are a native speaker.

Grammar Mastery: Struggling with prepositions or phrasal verbs? I can provide many resources to help you speak and write like a native English speaker.

Accent Reduction: Dreaming of a convincing American accent? Together, we'll explore vowel sounds, intonation, and more using engaging books and videos to help you sound like a native.

Through my experience as an English teacher, I have found that everyone learns in different ways and for different reasons. So, I am happy to tailor your lessons in whatever way would be most beneficial for you.

Though I didn't formally take classes with Cyrus, he was an amazing teacher and helped me to largely improve my vocabulary and pronunciations. I can't recommend Cyrus enough as a teacher!
