About Jessie

Hello! My name is Jessie, and I am a TEFL-certified teacher as well as a university graduate in Archaeology with a minor in Psychology. I have a genuine enthusiasm for helping others understand and master the English language. I take pride in creating personalized lesson plans that cater to each student’s individual needs. I strive to be patient and flexible in my teaching approach. I am an avid reader, completing over 200 books each year, which has further ignited my enthusiasm for learning. I cherish the opportunity to share that passion with others. I welcome any questions and discussions! Additionally, I have pursued courses in human development and teaching methods. In previous roles, I have had the privilege of training new employees both officially and unofficially. I find joy in sharing my knowledge with others. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you in achieving your English language goals!

About the lesson

I tailor my lessons to the individual, and the specific skills they aim to work on.
A general lesson includes learning vocabulary and familiar phrases, practicing them in the context in which they are used. I will repeat the pronunciation and have the student repeat it as well to practice listening and speaking.
We will write out and practice vocabulary in different contexts, to practice reading and writing.
I love questions! I have patience re-explaining anything that needs to be said in a different manner to help students fully comprehend the lesson.
I read approximately 200 books per year, which allows me to be more up to date on current use of language as well as reading from many different English countries for a wider breadth of understanding.
As a university graduate in Archaeology with a minor in Psychology, I am familiar with very diverse uses of English.
I teach best with intermediate onward, but I also love teaching beginners as learning through patient repetition and gestures is also a lot of fun.
