About Sophie
An enthusiastic English teacher from the UK currently living in Vietnam, looking to tutor 1:1 lessons online. I have a 120-hour TEFL qualification, and am currently teaching IELTS to students from the ages of 4-16 so am highly adaptable in my teaching techniques. I have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from University of Nottingham and worked in Public Relations in London for a year before moving to Vietnam, so have expansive verbal and written communication skills.

My teaching method is very much student centred - I think it's important for my students to speak as much as possible. Therefore, I focus on comprehension of material, discussion of topics and passages and put a strong focus on pronunciation and sentence formation and structure. In my classes, teaching and assessment are connected because student learning is continuously measured during my instruction. I also think its very important to encourage creativity and opinion so openly invite students to contribute to my lesson structure should they wish to cover specific topics in any given lesson.
