About John

I am a pastor and teacher and writer, Master of Divinity 1992, Master of Library Science 1995, five published books with lots of history. Taught classes on Old Testament history at two colleges. I enjoy showing Christians the importance of the Old Testament which helps greatly in understanding Jesus and the New Testament.

About the lesson

I do lecture but it is full of Bible stories and ancient history highlights paralleling the biblical history. Happy to answer questions; the only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask. Although I have a specific perspective on theology, I do try to address other opinions and ideas which are potentially correct also. I do like to ask questions of students to review prior lessons to help the ideas stick in your minds better.

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by students with John.

Perfect! John has an extension knowledge on the Old Testament and New Testament, making him a great mentor for Christians (and those looking into the religion). We have discussed some key philosophical principles as well about logic and improving overall as a human being. Would definitely recommend anyone take his course.

Perfect! Talking with John was a delight. He is intellectual without being "sophisticated". I look forward to studying the book of Job with him. John is a wise man and asks the right questions.

John has the qualities of a good teacher
1)Research and preparation- he is thoroughly prepared by presenting a broad view of his topic. He is likely to touch on points that others would over look. His love of learning is inspiring.2)Presentation- his approach is interesting and engaging. His skill as a writer comes across in his ability to tell a story and capture interest.
I would be very interested in taking a course from John.

I know John personally and professionally. I am the Salvation Army Chairperson in our town and John has preached alongside my husband who is a Chaplain and my Major who is a Pastor for our town's revival. John has proven in my experiences listening to him both preach Christ, as well as to advocate and educate regarding animal health and behaviors to be very skillful in his presentations. Often, he will employ his understanding of both Christianity and animals masterfully combined... totally engaging his congregation in his very comprehensive sermon.

I have already preached through the books of Job, Daniel, and Jude fully. I am nearly finished with Genesis and Luke.

I taught a college course on the Intertestamental Period of History (basically the Fall of Jerusalem to Nebuchadnezzar to the time of Christ).

We can go verse by verse (deep) or chapter by chapter, or thematically; it depends what your needs are.

The Old Testament for Christians; Intertestamental History; Book of Genesis; Book of Daniel; Book of Job; Book of Luke; Book of Jude; by Pastor with Master of Divinity degree, writer & teacher.
