About Alyssa
I started acting when I was 6 years old and fell in love. Being able to disappear in a character was like magic to me. Ever since then, I haven't stopped. It has taken up my entire being. My first ever show was Cats with River City Theatre Company. I did two shows a year with them for 11 years. During the summers, I was a part of a smaller company called Ron Cisneros Summer Theatre. I went to a performing arts high school and was on the dance company there for 2 years. I started taking one-on-one voice lessons at the age of 8 to when I was 17. I then studied acting throughout college at Emerson and Cal State Fullerton. I now am taking an adult Meisner class while going on multiple auditions a week. I know how intimidating performing can be, but I am here to make every student remember how strong and brave they are for even auditioning.

My approach is loosely based on the Meisner technique. For me, it is all about connection. What is the actors' connection to the piece and how can I help them portray that? We are going to be doing a lot of reflective psychology work as well to really dig into the character(s) and understand why they act the way they do. Acting is all about vulnerability. It is my responsibility to create a loving, safe environment for my students so they can trust me and be open with me. More than anything I want my students to feel cared for and respected. Acting is my passion and I am so excited to share that! The arts are truly so special, whether you're doing it for fun or for an audition. I can teach ages 6-18.
