About Nicolas

Hello there! I'm an enthusiastic Theoretical Physicist, still embracing the student life.

I am currently a student at Cambridge, where I am studying a MASt in Theoretical Physics (part III). I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Jacobs University Bremen, where I majored in Physics and minored in Mathematics. Here I was a Teaching Assistant for Calculus and Linear Algebra (I and II), Discrete Mathematics, Advanced Linear Algebra, Analytical Mechanics, Machine Learning, Advanced Quantum Physics, and Quantum Informatics (Masters level course).

I have been an active user of Machine Learning and Python throughout my entire undergraduate and Masters career, with some notable examples being:

- Research with the Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron with state-of-the-art Machine Learning models applied to Quantum Physics
- Python simulations dealing with Bose-Einstein Condensates and quasiparticles
- Monte Carlo methods in Statistical/Quantum Field Theories
- Quantum Machine Learning models in Qiskit (IBM certified)

Some general academic recognitions I have received are:

- Third place in the PLANCKS international physics competition at the masters level organized by the International Association of Physics Students
- Second place in the Dopplers national German physics competition at the Masters level organized by the German Society of Physics
- First place (twice) in the national Ecuadorian Mathematics Olympics at the high-school level organized by the Ecuadorian Society of Mathematics

On a less academic note, I am a life-long guitar player and music lover (mainly a fan of 70-80's Rock, Power Metal, and Flamenco guitar), as well as a gym and Ultimate frisbee fanatic!

With over 800+ hours and 5+ years of teaching experience under my belt, I genuinely enjoy engaging with students and helping them master the revolutionary technology that is arising in our generation.

Looking forward to connecting with you and embarking on this educational adventure together!

Warm regards,
Nicolas

About the lesson

Simplicity is Key:
As Einstein said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." That's my mantra. I specialize in breaking down complex concepts into bite-sized, intuitive pieces --I'm dedicated to making your learning experience crystal clear and enjoyable!

Tailored for You:
I'm will adapt my teaching style to your unique needs. My teaching experience has been extremely broad, ranging from middle and high schoolers from the Cloudforest in Ecuador all the way to Master Students in Quantum Informatics. The one thing my lessons have in common: I will add a dash of fun and curiosity to keep things interesting!

Engaging Exploration:
Learning shouldn't be a chore – it should be an exciting adventure! While I can certainly bring the rigor to mathematics, I firmly believe in having my lessons be as engaging as possible (the proof will be left as an exercise for the reader)

Preparation for Success:
I will also need to prepare to ensure I will properly guide you to your goals. That's why I encourage you to share your questions and topics before our lessons. This way, I can tailor our sessions to cover exactly what you're eager to explore, ensuring a productive and fulfilling experience.

Practice Makes Perfect:
Learning isn't just about absorbing knowledge; it's about mastering skills. To complement my teaching, I provide a range of thoughtfully crafted exercises and problem sets, specifically tailored for you. These resources will enable you to dive deeper and practice at your own pace, and we will overcome any questions that arise during the process.

Interactive Online Lessons:
Distance is no obstacle to effective learning. My virtual lessons are equipped with the technology needed to ensure an interactive and dynamic learning environment. From interactive whiteboards to multimedia presentations, we'll make every session fun.

Your Questions, Your Pace:
Ask questions freely, share your insights, and learn at a pace that suits you. Together, we'll foster an environment where curiosity thrives and learning becomes a joyous experience.

Feel free to reach out, and let's create a learning roadmap that's tailored just for you.

Nicolas is an amazing TA, one of my favorites from back in University! I am an Electrical Engineer and took both Analytical and Quantum Mechanics with him as a TA, and he was always willing to help me clear any confusion that I had during the class, and provided very interactive tutorials. I ended up obtaining (100/100) in Analytical Mechanics and (93/100) in Quantum Mechanics, and it was certainly in part thanks to him. Would recommend 10/10 :)

Nicolás played a pivotal role during my foundation year when I needed to prepare for both the SAT and my mathematics exam. Despite my historical difficulties with math, Nicolás's teaching style made complex concepts clear and approachable. Learning became an enjoyable experience as he skilfully imparted knowledge. Thanks to his guidance, I not only achieved all my academic objectives but also secured admission into my dream university.
