About Shwu Ying
I provide a safe, and supportive space for neurotypical children/ mums of children with special needs (ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) to express and explore emotions. Sessions serve as a preventative approach so that individuals do not suppress their emotions, which could lead to further mental health struggles later on.
I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and completed the Art Therapy Preventative Professional Programme. I provide freelance services to support emotional wellbeing using preventative art therapy/ therapeutic art approaches.
In my full time role, I support special needs children in an international school, addressing their social, emotional, personal, behavioural, and academic needs. Through this experience, I feel the need to support mums of children with special needs, to ensure you have a space to care for you own emotional wellbeing while caring for your child.

- Use of art materials (eg. colour pencils, chalk pastels, clay) in the process and guidance to explore artwork
- Mainly work with children age 7-12 / Mums of children with special needs (eg. autism/dyslexia/adhd)
- Sessions are usually 1 hour
-Note: i. Art skills are not required; ii. Meaning of drawing comes from the child; iii. Only provide non-clinical sessions.
