About Joe

I am an outgoing, friendly, and understanding person who thrives on ensuring high academic attainment. I have learnt and fine-tuned effective revision skills and excellent academic writing as an alumnus of George Heriot's School in Edinburgh renowned for their extremely high exam results and further developed these by achieving high grades in the University of Glasgow. With my advice, mentoring, and tutorage I can ensure that you maximise your potential in the exciting fields of the social and physical sciences. I will tailor lessons based on your strengths and weaknesses and work with you to troubleshoot issues from writing style; to referencing and essay structure; to what makes exam candidates stand out to examiners.

About the lesson

I will focus on assignments and final exams due to their high weighting in overall grades. Committed to ensuring work is of the highest standard possible not merely aiming for students to pass a subject but to set up students for their future pursuit of higher learning. I discover a student's preferred method of learning to maximise the efficiency of their revision to ensure they achieve the highest grades possible no matter how high their workload is. Due to high school exams being in my recent memory and benefitting from a University perspective, I offer a unique peer-led tutoring service. Finally, by offering advice based on my own experience and academic journey, I provide a less stressful and rewarding academic pathway to success.

I can highly recommend Joe for anyone looking for a passionate tutor who has great communication skills. He helped my son, when he was struggling in Geography. Joe was great at breaking down the concepts and showing methods to remember important facts. My son benefited from his tutorage and with Joes help, he improved at Geography massively.
