About Mia
Hi, my name is Mia and I am a third year student studying English Language and Linguistics. Since primary school, English has always been my favourite subject and I love spending my free time writing (especially poems!). I achieved 3 grade A’s in my A-Levels (including English Language) and have just achieved a first overall for my second year of study at University. I have experience tutoring in the past. I have previously supported a young student with ADHD and learning difficulties for GCSE maths (he achieved 2 grades higher than his predicted grade!) I love working with children and teenagers and I really hope to be a teacher after my degree! I am a patient person who listens and takes time to understand the people I interact with in order to adapt teaching techniques to meet individual needs.

My lessons are aimed towards students aged 11-16. I am able to offer support for homework and extra practice for things such as reading, essay writing, text analysis, poetry, spelling and grammar and more. I tailor-make my sessions to suit individual needs and offer the best support I can. I work at the child’s pace, and prioritise full understanding of topics before moving on to other work. I am able to go through assessments and assist with feedback and further practice.
