About Joanna

Hi! I’m Joanna, a dedicated GCSE student, who has attended a grammar school for the last 5 years and predicted top grades across all my subjects. I’ve always loved learning and sharing that knowledge with others — especially younger students. Teaching lets me combine my passion for subjects like Maths and English with helping others grow their confidence and skills. I understand that school can be challenging for many students, so my goal is to make learning less stressful and more enjoyable, helping each child build confidence and succeed greatly. Seeing students improve and believe in themselves is what motivates me most. I’m patient, approachable, and committed to supporting every student’s unique learning journey. I look forward to helping your child grow and flourish.

About the lesson

My lessons are organised, engaging, and fully tailored to each student’s needs. My aim is to build genuine understanding, not just surface-level answers — so students can confidently apply what they’ve learnt in any situation, gaining real independence in their learning. I know it’s frustrating when things don’t click straight away, so I create a comfortable space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace — because every child is different. You might be wondering why to choose someone younger over a more experienced tutor — but being a top student myself means I understand the current curriculum inside out, and I know exactly what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to helping students exceed the top grades. Whether your child needs help catching up, wants to move ahead, or simply needs someone to explain things more clearly, I adapt my teaching to suit their style — from interactive exercises to step-by-step walkthroughs. I usually teach 1-hour sessions for KS2 and KS3 students and have tutored a range of children over the past few years with excellent results. As a top-performing student predicted all 9s (A* equivalent), I know exactly how to break things down in a relatable, calm, and effective way. Every lesson is designed to boost skills, motivation, and self-belief. Helping younger students believe in themselves and realise their great potential is my main goal in tutoring.
