About Elif
Hello! I am Elif, a dedicated IB Diploma candidate at Cameron Heights Secondary School with a passion for helping students achieve their full potential. Having maintained a 90%+ academic average throughout my schooling—including completing advanced high school courses early and earning a Level 6 in IB Chemistry SL—I understand the strategies and mindset needed to excel academically. My background includes running an independent tutoring practice as well as mentoring youth at STEM and music camps, where I have worked with diverse age groups to build both subject mastery and confidence. As an IB Diploma student, my tutoring approach centers on breaking down complex subjects into simple, actionable steps using patient, structured guidance. I customize every session to fit the student's unique learning style, focusing on both core concept mastery and interactive problem-solving. A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous concepts, followed by guided step-by-step instruction on new material, and finishes with independent practice to reinforce understanding and build confidence.What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students as a relatable peer mentor, combined with my multilingual communication skills (fluent in English and Turkish, with French and Spanish background). My online lessons are tailored for elementary students (Grades 1–8) building foundational skills, high school students (Grades 9–10) taking core Math, Science, and English, and select Grade 11 students preparing for advanced coursework.
