Hi, I’m Alex! As a current Year 10 academic scholarship student at Sirius College, I know exactly what it takes to excel in competitive school environments. My approach isn't about rigid, boring lectures; it’s about peer-to-peer mentorship. Because I am currently navigating the exact same curriculum, I understand the specific hurdles students face and how to overcome them with practical, stress-free strategies.
My Teaching Methodology & Techniques
I don't just give away the answers—I teach students how to think through problems independently. My sessions focus on:
First-Principles Breakdown: Turning complex algebraic formulas or analytical English essays into simple, manageable steps.
The "Why" Before the "How": Ensuring a deep, foundational understanding of topics rather than just rote memorisation.
Scholarship Study Habits: Sharing the exact time-management tips, active recall strategies, and exam techniques that helped me secure my private school scholarship.

Lesson Structure & Duration
Typical Length: 60-minute sessions are standard, but 90-minute sessions are highly recommended for students tackling both advanced math and English in one go.
Lesson Breakdown: We spend the first 10 minutes troubleshooting difficult homework or school concepts, 40 minutes deeply learning new topics ahead of the school curve, and the final 10 minutes consolidating knowledge with practice questions.
Note: Lessons are fully flexible and can be conducted dynamically online or in-person at a mutually agreed local library or study space.
