About Rachel
Playing guitar should feel like an extension of your own hands. 293 students have already moved from frustration to fluidity using my methods.
My background as a self-taught musician means I skip the overly academic jargon that confuses people. I provide a clear structure for adults and intermediate learners who want to see actual growth. Starting as a kid in Montreal, I found my way through music by listening to chanson and folk records until I could replicate the sound. I have spent 13 years playing guitar, mostly on the road where the only thing that matters is whether the music actually works. My 7 years of experience as a teacher has shown me that even self-taught players sometimes reach a point where they need a roadmap.
I have taught 293 students who wanted to bridge the gap between knowing a few chords and really understanding their instrument. My approach is to strip away the fluff and focus on the mechanics of music theory, scales, and modes.
We will work on your chord transitions until they are smooth and your ear training until you can hear what is happening in a song. I keep the atmosphere relaxed because I know that music should be about enjoyment. Send me a message if you want to get playing.
