About Zhang
“The darker the nights, the brighter the stars.” I am James Zhang. I come from California, United States and understand two different languages, Mandarin and English, where I had to learn Mandarin the hard way. I was born in the United States and moved back and forward between the United States and China, and I had to struggle throughout the course till high school, where I could speak both languages decently and understand both of their cultures.

Hello, my name is James Zhang coming from a diverse background in China and America. Due to my father's work, I had to transfer between China and America when I was small and struggled through the learning process for both languages, so I understand the pain of learning Chinese. Previously, I had done translations for books and assisted the professor in teaching lessons.
The style of my lessons would first start with understanding the students, knowing their level, and then continue learning tasks that are prepared for them individually, including multiple test sessions and fun gaming activities. There will also be stories on how some of the words are made.
I took the TOCFL test and passed C2 with the expert-level pass. From beginners to understanding the moderate amounts of Mandrin are all welcomed.
