About Zoey

I’m a guitarist with 6 years of teaching experience and a BM in World Music specializing in Guitar Traditions. My passion lies in mixing academic study with high-intensity playing styles like metal, shred, and progressive rock. I love introducing students to techniques that feel challenging but exciting. My lessons balance culture, creativity, and speed. I work with both kids and adults who want to develop serious precision. We focus on alternate picking, sweep patterns, and tight rhythm control. I also teach how to build speed safely. Some lessons are slow and focused. Others feel like entering a shred gym. I use exercises built from world music rhythms to strengthen timing. It keeps everything fresh and musical. My goal is to help you discover your own voice on the instrument. Together, we’ll push your skills into new territory.

About the lesson

My guitar teaching method brings together practical playing skills and essential gear knowledge. I want you to feel at ease with every part of your instrument, from holding a pick to tuning your guitar correctly. We start with clear foundations and slowly add more technical ideas. Along the way, I show you how to change strings safely and how to adjust small details that affect your tone. Effects pedals can seem confusing, but I break them down in a simple and hands-on way. We explore clean tones, warm strums, and bright leads so you can express yourself. I work well with learners who enjoy gentle, patient instruction. Many want to strum familiar songs, and others want to lead music with confidence. I guide each person toward their goals without pressure. You will learn how to listen closely to your own sound. We talk about how amps, guitars, and pedals work together. You will also learn how to keep your guitar performing well. My goal is to help you grow into a player who feels fully in control of their music and their gear.
