About Travis

I’m an English major at San Diego State University and a first-generation student, so I know what it’s like to learn a new language and feel unsure. I help students build confidence, improve fluency, and enjoy learning English.

My lessons are fun and personalized, covering conversation, grammar, pronunciation, essay writing, exam prep, or anything you need. I also speak Spanish, so I can clarify tricky concepts if needed.

We can chat about books, travel, music, art, culture, or hobbies, making lessons engaging and practical.

Whether you’re a teen, university student, or professional, I’ll help you speak English confidently and naturally.

MY LESSONS:

My lessons are fun, relaxed, and tailored to your goals. We can focus on:

-Conversation practice

-Grammar & pronunciation

-Essay or thesis writing

-Or anything else you’d like to improve!

TYPICAL LESSON PLAN:

-Warm-up (5 min): Quick icebreaker or small talk to get comfortable speaking English

-Focused practice (15–20 min): Grammar, vocabulary, or conversation exercises based on your level and goals

Real-world application (10–15 min): Roleplay, reading, or discussion on topics like culture, travel, or hobbies

-Review & feedback (5 min): Summarize new words and phrases, set goals for your next lesson

As a first-generation student, I know what it’s like to learn a new language and feel anxious or unsure. I’ll help you overcome those challenges in a supportive and patient way. We can also chat about your interests, whether it's books, travel, cooking, music, dancing, art, humor, exercise, or any other topic, while still learning English.
