About JY&A

I am a New York-based trilingual language coach, fluent in English, French, and Mandarin (native). With over 15 years of international experience in art, culture, and luxury, I bring a global perspective to my teaching. Language is more than just words; it encompasses one's identity, confidence, presence, and cultural fluency. Born in Beijing to a ballerina mother and a university professor father whose passion for literature, photography, and Western opera shaped my early love for art and culture. My journey with languages began early. At the age of six, my grandmother, a devoted Catholic and English speaker, encouraged me to learn the language as a gateway to the world. What initially felt like discipline became the foundation of my lifelong love for languages. I later earned a Bachelor's degree in French and completed a Master's in French literature in Paris, followed by advanced studies in the arts and humanities in the UK. Since then, languages have fueled my passion, which I express through my art career in various settings, from academic lectures to private coaching sessions. Today, I focus on helping executives, families, and art and culture enthusiasts improve their English, French, and Mandarin Chinese with elegance. My lessons are tailored, practical, and engaging, utilizing real-world content to build confidence and clarity. Whether for professional growth, creative learning for children, or cultural conversations, I guide my students to express themselves authentically, naturally, and with refinement. My lessons are not about memorizing rules, but about learning English as a living language of presence and refinement. Tailored Approach: Each lesson is adapted to your goals — whether it’s preparing for an international career, helping your children gain confidence, or refining your conversational style for art, culture, travel, and luxury contexts. Elegant Communication: I focus on vocabulary, tone, and cultural nuances so you don’t just “speak” English, you express yourself gracefully. Interactive Materials: We use real-world content — articles, artworks, cultural stories, or professional scenarios — so you practice English that you can immediately apply in life. Confidence Building: Many students know English but feel shy to use it. My role is to help you feel at ease, sounding natural and confident in any setting. I teach executives, families, and culture and art enthusiasts: 1. Professionals: English for business, leadership, and networking. 2. Children & teens: Creative English through storytelling, art, and games. 3. Art collectors & Cultural enthusiasts: English for art, exhibitions, and cultural travel. Every lesson is a step not just in language, but in expressing who you are — with clarity, confidence, and elegance.

My Rates Explained English Lessons – from $75/hr (online) English is not only my working language but part of my life since childhood. I teach it with a focus on presence, confidence, and cultural fluency — much more than grammar drills. French Lessons – from $75/hr (online) With a Master’s in French Literature from the Sorbonne and years living in Paris, I bring both academic depth and everyday cultural experience. Students learn French as a living language of an elegant culture and lifestyle. Mandarin Lessons – from $35/hr (online) Born and raised in Beijing, I provide authentic Mandarin instruction with clear foundations and cultural insights. My teaching helps beginners, professionals, and families build confidence in real-world communication.
