About Kiana

I'm very passionate about Computer Science, however, I wasn't always sure about pursuing it as I sometimes struggled with its essential skills like being patient. During that time, the main thing that helped guide me was some older students who navigated me through the difficulties and they inspired me to now help younger students who may also love the subject, but struggle with certain topics.
I was selected to complete a paid internship with the DfE during which I gained invaluable teaching experience.

About the lesson

Knowing every student has a different approach to learning, I'm able to tailor my methods according to the student's needs. I typically ask the student some questions about a topic to assess how confident they are, and I explain the topic more in depth for areas that they may be struggling with. I then use active recall during the sessions to help ensure the content stays with the student long term.
I have done multiple tutoring programmes both in and out of school environment, and I'm on track to complete teacher training after graduation.
