About Kasper
Hi!
I'm Kasper, originally from Denmark but moved to Birmingham in late 2019 to pursue my Masters degree. My goal is to pursue a career in academia as I have a passion for International Relations and Security.
At University of Birmingham I'm currently studying an MSc in Global Cooperation & Security. I have a background in IR with a BSc in International Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark. In October I will start my PhD at King's College London examining Arctic security.
Previously, I have spent a year teaching at a primary school in Denmark which has given me invaluable experience in conveying complex material in a simple and straightforward manner. It has also taught me how to tailor to individual needs.

My teaching methods are based on an interactive form of learning, I am a strong advocate that the more you verbally engage with the material the better you will remember and understand it. Therefore, my approach is to first provide a basic overview of a topic before moving into a more one-on-one or group based discussion of the material.
My areas of expertise include:
-How to write an academically well structured essay
-How to develop an academic argument
-Reviewing areas for improvement in academic work
-Theoretical knowledge in IR, Security Studies and current affairs
-In-depth knowledge on IR history going back to the 17th century
