About Diego
Hi, I'm Diego! I'm a Mechanical Engineering student who genuinely enjoys learning, solving problems, and helping others succeed. I believe the best teachers are the ones who make students feel comfortable asking questions, and that's the approach I bring to every lesson.
I have experience tutoring fourth- and fifth-grade students in math and English, as well as helping college classmates with Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, and engineering courses. I enjoy breaking complex concepts into simple, logical steps and adapting my explanations to each student's learning style so they can build confidence and become independent problem solvers.
Outside of academics, I love spending time outdoors and appreciate any opportunity to be in nature, whether it's hiking or simply enjoying the fresh air. I also enjoy playing golf and tennis, cooking, and working on engineering projects that challenge me to think creatively. These interests have taught me patience, discipline, and the importance of continuous learning, qualities that I bring to every tutoring session. I'm excited to help students reach their academic goals while making learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Hi! I'm Diego, a Mechanical Engineering student with a passion for mathematics and helping others succeed. I've always enjoyed breaking down difficult concepts into simple, understandable steps, and there's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student gain confidence and solve problems independently.
My tutoring experience began in high school, where I volunteered through TPA tutoring fourth and fifth grade students in both math and English. In college, I continued helping classmates in Pre-Calculus and Calculus, often attending different discussion sections to answer questions and work through homework problems together. I also create educational videos explaining engineering and math concepts, which has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and teach step by step.
My teaching style is patient, interactive, and personalized. Rather than having students memorize formulas, I focus on helping them understand the reasoning behind each concept so they can confidently solve new problems on their own. I encourage questions throughout every lesson and adapt my explanations to each student's learning style and pace.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the topics the student finds most challenging. We review the underlying concepts, work through examples together step by step, and then practice similar problems independently to reinforce understanding. I also share study strategies and problem-solving techniques that students can use long after our sessions.
I offer lessons for elementary, middle school, and high school students, as well as college students taking Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, introductory engineering mathematics, Physics I (Mechanics), and Thermodynamics. For Physics I, I can help with vectors, kinematics, Newton's laws of motion, free-body diagrams, friction, work and energy, conservation of energy, momentum and impulse, collisions, rotational motion, torque, angular momentum, oscillations, and gravitation. For Thermodynamics, I can help with energy balances, the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics, properties of pure substances, control volumes, entropy, power and refrigeration cycles, and solving engineering thermodynamics problems step by step.
Whether you need help preparing for an exam, completing homework, understanding difficult concepts, or building a stronger foundation in math, physics, or engineering, I'm committed to creating a supportive learning environment where you can gain confidence and achieve your academic goals.
