About Mohsin
My experience in the classroom allows me to bring structure, clarity, and high expectations to my tutoring. In my tutoring, I take a structured and evidence-informed approach rooted in strong classroom practice. As a qualified secondary science teacher with a PGCE, I focus on clear explanation, guided modelling, and regular checks for understanding. Lessons are explicitly sequenced so that students always know what they are learning, why it matters, and how it connects to their exam success. A typical tutoring session lasts 60–120 minutes, beginning with a short retrieval activity, followed by a precise teaching phase, structured practice, and then an exam-style task to apply new learning. For A-Level Biology, this also includes dedicated essay preparation and model answers to develop fluency, scientific precision, and coherence. I am a qualified secondary science teacher specialising in AQA Combined Science, Triple Science, and A-Level Biology, with experience teaching and supporting students from KS3 to KS5. My teaching experience allows me to bring tried-and-tested classroom strategies, including scaffolded tasks, chunked explanations, modelling of answers, and success-criteria-driven assessments. My lessons are ideal for students seeking academic excellence whether that means achieving higher GCSE grades, building secure foundational knowledge for science at sixth-form level, or preparing for university pathways in biological sciences, medicine or related fields. I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, exposure to exam-style questions, and regular low-stakes quizzes to build retrieval strength, confidence, and fluency. I am also experienced in working with students who have SEND needs. My approach includes visual scaffolds, adaptive questioning, reduced cognitive load instructional strategies, and carefully guided tasks to ensure accessibility without compromising challenge.
