About Sara

I have always enjoyed helping others understand subjects that initially seem difficult or overwhelming. As a Pharmacy student at University College London, I have developed a strong foundation in Maths and the Sciences, and I know first-hand how much difference a clear explanation and the right support can make.

I want to tutor because I enjoy seeing students gain confidence in their abilities. Seeing the excitement build and the smile on their faces when they grasp a concept and get an answer right warms my heart and I believe every single child is capable of achieving what they put their mind to. For me, tutoring is not just about improving grades; it is about helping students understand why something works, feel comfortable asking questions and develop the confidence to tackle challenging problems independently.

Alongside my studies, I have experience working with children as an activity instructor, which has strengthened my communication, patience and ability to adapt to different personalities and learning needs. I aim to bring the same energy and encouragement into my tutoring sessions.

Whether a student is struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam or simply wants to feel more confident in Maths or Science, I want to create a supportive environment where they can learn without feeling pressured or judged.

About the lesson

My goal as a tutor is to change a child's mindset from "I can't do this" to "I've got this!" . My approach is student-focused, adapting lessons to each individual's strengths, weaknesses and learning style.

I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, practice questions and active recall to help students build both understanding and confidence. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I encourage them to work through problems themselves and explain their reasoning, helping them become more independent learners. I also use regular recap and questioning to identify areas that need more attention.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although I am very open to adapting the length depending on the student’s age and needs. I am happy to help with understanding school topics, homework, revision, exam preparation and building confidence in Maths and Science.

I am currently studying an MPharm Pharmacy degree at University College London, giving me a strong academic background in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I have also gained experience working with children as an activity instructor, where I developed my ability to communicate clearly, be patient and adapt my approach to different children and their individual needs.

I offer lessons to secondary school students, including GCSE and A levels. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing a genuine understanding of the subject.
