About Lucas
Hi there! My name is Lucas and I am a student at UCL and am going to study Natural Sciences.
I have just completed my A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics. I`d be happy to tutor in any of the subjects above up to GCSEs and Maths A level. I can go through the course methodically or go through specific questions that may be posing problems.
I have a younger brother and two younger sisters and enjoy working with children in an engaging and interactive way, especially if they don't feel confident about the subject.
Below are two case studies from my current or past students (names changed).
I started teaching Maths to James in year 10. His parents approached me because he was struggling with his self-confidence. A series of exam results that didn’t go his way meant that he was finding it hard to motivate himself to work. I started teaching him, and in the first two months, we went through all the curriculum points for his GCSEs. Even though we started with two lessons a week, we eventually moved to one a week as he learnt to study on his own and was not as reliant on me. It was a pleasure to see James grow throughout year 11 and he got an A, an improvement from his predicted grade.
Sophie came to me because her parents wanted her to apply to competitive schools in the 11+. Even though she had a very good level in English, she needed to work on her Maths and reasoning. Together with the parents, we created a study program for her to follow during the summer and year 5 and brainstormed the schools where she might fit in best. After a year of solid work, she passed the exam and interview at Haberdasher’s School for Girls and is now studying there

Gave me structured tuition lessons for maths and physics a level and he helped plan a revision guide. I went to him when there were gaps in my knowledge and he prepared me such that I was confident when I finally did my exam
I was studying for my A level maths exams and Lucas helped me with structuring a revision plan. This helped me complete all topics well within exams starting, giving me plenty of time to go through past papers. Furthermore topics that I struggled with were quickly addressed and Lucas had great patience with me when I took longer than usual to solve a problem.
