About Riley
Hey, I'm Riley, a recent graduate from UCLA with a passion for education. I have worked as a camp counselor and tutor for kids of all ages for years, and strongly believe in helping kids learn and grow to their top potential. I love seeing my students flourish and gain a real sense of confidence in not only their academic abilities, but in their sense of self. Maintaining a 3.8-4.0 GPA from middle school all the way to graduating college, I know what it takes to be a star student and I am confident I can help you achieve any academic desire you have. I specialize in the English subject, with a particular emphasis on essay writing, reading, grammar, and literature.

My mission is to ensure every child feels proud of their skills in English while also fostering a love of the written word. What sets me apart as a tutor is my background as a camp counselor and creative artist, as well as a high-achieving academic. I weave fun and creativity into my lessons plans because I believe education is ineffective when students are not engaged in a personal, energetic manner. As a student, I have consistently maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and college at UCLA, and am confident in my ability to help your child acquire the necessary, life-long skills that will result in their best performance in school.
For me, listening and connecting is number one in making your child feel comfortable. After making sure to establish a basis of trust, I follow a reliable, fun structure in my tutoring sessions with your child. Each meeting begins with an ice breaker, then we review the previous meetings key points and homework, and then move on to that week's lesson. I end each session with practice work and assign manageable homework to aid in your child's learning (but not stress) before sending them on their way!
