About Ayush
I am a dedicated Computer Science student at UNC Charlotte with a strong academic foundation and a passion for making technology accessible to others. Currently in my sophomore year, I have spent hundreds of hours mastering programming logic and software development. My journey in CS has been driven by a desire to solve problems, and I bring that same problem-solving energy to every tutoring session.
What truly defines my approach is my ability to relate to my students. As someone currently navigating the rigors of a CS degree, I understand the challenges beginners face because I have faced them too. I am not just a tutor; I am a mentor who is deeply invested in my students' success. My goal is to transform the "frustration" of a bug into the "excitement" of a breakthrough.
Outside of my own studies, I am focused on building a career in the tech industry and staying active in the coding community through hackathons and personal projects. This real-world perspective allows me to show my students that coding isn't just about passing a class—it’s about building the future. I am patient, professional, and committed to providing a supportive remote learning environment where young students feel confident asking questions and exploring their creativity through code.

As a Computer Science sophomore at UNC Charlotte, I offer a "near-peer" teaching approach that bridges the gap between complex university-level concepts and a beginner’s perspective. My method focuses on visual learning and interactive coding, ensuring that young students don't just memorize syntax but actually understand the logic behind the code.
My Teaching Approach: I believe coding should be taught like a language: through immersion and practice. I use a project-based methodology where we build something tangible in every session. We start with the "why" before moving to the "how," using relatable metaphors to explain abstract concepts like loops, variables, and arrays.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
The Warm-Up (5-10 mins): A quick logic puzzle or review of the previous concept to get the brain in "coding mode."
The Deep Dive (20 mins): Introducing a new concept (like Java syntax) through live, shared-screen coding.
The Build (20 mins): The student takes the lead! We work together on a small project—like a basic calculator or a text-based adventure game.
Wrap-Up (5-10 mins): Summarizing what we learned and setting a small, fun "challenge" for the next week.
What Sets Me Apart: Having recently navigated these subjects myself, I remember exactly where the "stumbling blocks" are. I am incredibly patient and specialize in making the intimidating world of Computer Science feel like a creative playground. Since our lessons are 100% remote, I utilize collaborative tools to make the online experience feel just as hands-on as an in-person class.
Who These Lessons Are For: These sessions are specifically designed for middle school and high school students who are curious about technology or looking to get a head start on their future CS degrees. Whether you are a total beginner or an AP Computer Science student needing extra support, I tailor every lesson to your specific pace and interests.
