About Ellie

Hello! My name is Ellie and I have just graduated in Classics at Oxford University. I have been studying Latin for 10 years and Ancient Greek for 5. At A level I studied Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Latin. My degree requires me to be able to quickly read and understand academic and primary texts as well as write clear and concise essays about a given topic. I would love to be able to pass on these skills to my pupils. My lessons will focus on creating a safe environment so that students feel relaxed and calm as I believe that this is the ideal situation for constructive learning. I look forward to getting to know each student individually and help them on their learning journey. I truly love my degree and wish to spread this love to as many as possible

About the lesson

My first lesson would be about getting to know the pupil, their current ability in the subject, and their personal learning style. I believe it is important to establish these things in order to get the most out of future tutoring sessions. Future lessons would depend on this but would generally feature consistent vocabulary building and reinforcement, translation practice and assistance, and help in whatever area the student requires. I would encourage pupils to let me know any areas they are particularly unsure of so I could work them into the sessions and help to establish a dialogue between us so that they feel comfortable in telling me their difficulties.
