Matthew’s ability to guide students in an engaging way is why he is a trustworthy teacher. He is very passionate about biology and it is very obvious when he starts to talk about the subject. I had the pleasure of seeing him lead a group of high schoolers this summer in a research internship. Throughout the summer they conducted research at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and then presented their data at the end of the summer. Their presentations were well informed due to Matthew’s aid and guidance, ending a summer where students were sad to see him go.
