About Maria

Hello Future Students,

My name is Maria Moroney, and I am excited to help you explore and master the fascinating worlds of Biology and Chemistry. Here’s a little bit about me and why I am passionate about teaching these subjects.

A Passion for Science:
From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the intricacies of science and how things work. This curiosity led me to pursue my studies in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Limerick. I believe that understanding science not only broadens our knowledge but also enhances our appreciation of the world around us.

Interests Beyond the Classroom:
Outside of academics, I have a keen interest in sports, space, and nature. Whether I’m on the field, gazing at the stars, or hiking through a forest, I see science at play everywhere. These interests have fueled my passion for learning and teaching, as I love to draw connections between scientific concepts and real-life experiences.

Why I Want to Teach:
Teaching allows me to share my love for science with others. I find joy in helping students grasp complex concepts and watching their confidence grow as they overcome challenges. My goal is to make learning an engaging and enjoyable experience, sparking the same excitement for science that I have.

My Approach to Teaching:

Interactive and Engaging: I strive to make lessons interactive, using visual aids and practical examples to make the material more relatable.
Personalized Learning: I tailor each session to your unique needs, ensuring that you get the most out of our time together.
Supportive Environment: I am here to support you every step of the way, providing a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.

Achievements and Experience:
Academic Excellence: I achieved top grades in my Leaving Cert Biology and Chemistry exams, and I am currently specializing in teaching these subjects at the University of Limerick.
Proven Track Record: My tutoring experience has shown me that personalized guidance can significantly improve a student’s understanding and performance.

I am thrilled to embark on this educational journey with you. Together, we will explore the wonders of Biology and Chemistry, and I am confident that you will not only achieve your academic goals but also develop a deeper appreciation for the sciences.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Best regards,

Maria Moroney
