About Diya

I care about improving the confidence of students to ensure they have the best possible chance in education.
I find teaching to be extremely rewarding as I see students progress further and overcome obstacles they were unsure about.
I have developed my empathy skills by working with children aged 5-14 at a day-care centre (Camp Beaumont).

About the lesson

- Individualised teaching approach - focus on adapting each lesson to students' specific concerns.
- Experience tutoring maths with students aged 8-9 with Royal Institute Maths Masterclasses. Involved explaining complex unknown maths problems and practicing questions involving these. Students left Masterclasses confident in their knowledge of Pi for example.
- Teaching method: understand struggles student is having, break down problems/questions by part and explain how to solve each step, give student a range of questions to build up to the problem they face so they understand the entire process required to answer similar questions, practice more challenging exam questions of the same type to push their understanding further.
- Lesson length 45 minutes/1 hour to allow for time to delve into problems fully and explore a variety of questions to apply knowledge to ensure student is confident with these questions after.
- Teach ages 11+ (starting at 8 years old) to A-Level (18 years old).
