About Asha
I am Asha, a university Anatomy and Physiology lecturer, qualified physiotherapist, and Master's graduate in Human Anatomy. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching, reflecting my strong foundation in evidence-based and student-centered pedagogy. Asha is an experienced Anatomy and Physiology lecturer with over ten years of teaching experience in tertiary education, including roles at the University of Queensland, University of Southern Queensland, and Torrens University. She is also a qualified physiotherapist with a Master’s degree in Human Anatomy, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching, which strengthens her evidence based, student centred teaching practice and underpins her commitment to high quality university level education.
She specialises in supporting students in health science disciplines, including physiotherapy, nursing, nutrition, paramedicine, and medicine.
Her tutoring approach is interactive, structured, and student centred, with a strong focus on building conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. She uses a flipped classroom style where appropriate, combining guided explanations, real world examples, and active recall techniques. Asha also incorporates formative assessment strategies, including quizzes to strengthen understanding and assessment readiness.
