About Sam
Hey there! My name is Sam. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Music, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
My academic and professional background has given me extensive experience with writing, research, communication, and creative storytelling. I currently work in filmmaking, photography, and video editing, where communicating ideas clearly and creatively is a major part of what I do. I value imagination, individuality, and self-expression.
I also love traveling, learning about different cultures, meeting people, and finding new ways of looking at the world. That curiosity is something I hope to bring into my lessons.
Whether you're learning English for school, work, travel, writing, or simply to feel more comfortable in conversation, I'll meet you where you are. You don't need to worry about being perfect—I care much more about helping you become comfortable and curious with the language.

My approach to teaching English is conversational, creative, and personalized to each student. We problem-solve together—you learn from me, and I may even learn something new from you!
I emphasize imagination and creativity in the writing process while also helping students strengthen grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, and everyday conversation.
Lessons are adapted to your individual goals, whether you want to become a more confident English speaker, improve your academic or creative writing, prepare for travel, or simply practice natural conversation.
I want lessons to feel comfortable, engaging, and encouraging. I understand how much patience and attention learning something new can take! Making mistakes is a natural part of learning a language and of the writing process. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and expressing themselves!
