About Archie

I am a 22-year-old graduate from the University of Edinburgh, with an MA in Classical Studies. I have a passion for Ancient History and the classics, which was spurred on by having grown up in Italy. I have taught students before at school levels, and always love to share my knowledge about Ancient History and English Literature.

About the lesson

I focus on helping students with their writing style, whether that is with any essay-based subject or with creative writing. While my focus is in English and Classics, I can help out with essay writing in any other subject. I have an MA degree in Classical Studies from the University of Edinburgh, and I also took English Literature, Classical Studies and Geography at A-Level, achieving A*s in all three subjects.

In our lessons I can help by reading through your essays to work through areas for improvement, as well as going through exemplar essays together to find more ways to succeed. I also like to help students work through their syntax and grammar if they are struggling in those areas, so that their all-round writing is improved.

As well as this, I can also teach both Classical Studies, Ancient History and English Literature syllabuses. I would do this by asking you what areas you are struggling with or particularly want to focus on, and going through these in more detail than you might otherwise get from a lesson in a classroom. I can do this through powerpoints, worksheets, or sometimes simply discussing the topic casually. I find that with each student my approach can differ, depending on the student's specific needs. We can go through this together and decide what teaching might work best for you.

My lessons last an hour each. I can teach people of all ages and at any level of experience.
