About Gabby
Hi! My name is Gabby Welty and I am a graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Geaux Tigers!) I have been a tutor since for 8 years— I have worked with 8th grade students through college freshmen. I worked in the tutoring lab at the Student Support Services office at LSU, and I also worked for a professional education company in Baton Rouge called Peer Plus. I was a mentor in an organization called Society of Peer Mentors, where I worked with incoming freshman engineering students to help them acclimate to their classes. After I graduated, I began my engineering career, and still use the concepts I have learned and taught in my career today. I am fun, creative, encouraging, professional, and a high achieving person.

I encourage my students to challenge themselves to complete problems prior to our session, come with questions, and we review them together. I encourage the students to lead the sessions. During the sessions, I focus and pick up on what the student needs help with, and come up with a short “homework” that they can work on the for the next session. The problems are always strategic and focused on their needs.
I am an easy going teacher who is able to create a relaxed environment for the students. What sets me apart is that I am patient, and I take the time to discover each student’s learning patterns. I always come to the sessions prepared to ensure maximum productivity out of each session.
My lessons cater toward high school students and college freshmen taking Pre Algebra, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
