My short films have received awards and international festival selections, and I continue to produce new creative work while undertaking a PhD in screenwriting, researching autoethnographic screenwriting adaptation theory. I have presented my research at conferences around Australia.

Advanced Diploma of Screen & Media
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)

I'm experienced with industry-standard equipment, including ARRI, Blackmagic, Sony FX and Canon Cinema camera systems, as well as professional lighting, sound recording and post-production workflows using DaVinci Resolve.
For your peace of mind, I also hold a current Working with Children Check, making my lessons suitable for school-aged students as well as adults.
Whether you're looking to make your first short film, prepare a university portfolio, improve your cinematography, master DaVinci Resolve or develop your storytelling skills, my goal is to help you become a more confident, creative and technically skilled filmmaker.

While many filmmaking tutors come solely from the industry, effective teaching requires a different skill set. As well as working professionally as a filmmaker, I have years of experience teaching hands-on filmmaking in the classroom. I hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, giving me formal qualifications in adult education and instructional design.
I don't just show you how something is done—I understand how to break down complex filmmaking concepts into clear, practical lessons that are tailored to your learning style, experience and goals. I have taught a diverse cohort of learners and understand that there is no singular approach to education.
Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time, preparing for film school, developing a short film, or looking to refine your professional filmmaking skills, my lessons are tailored to your goals, experience and creative interests.
I take a practical, hands-on approach to teaching, combining industry-standard techniques with a strong focus on visual storytelling. Rather than simply explaining theory, I guide students through real filmmaking workflows, helping them build confidence by creating their own projects and receiving personalised feedback throughout the process.
Lessons can cover a wide range of filmmaking disciplines, including:
- Film Production
- Cinematography
- Camera Operation
- Lighting
- Directing
- Screenwriting
- Documentary Filmmaking
- Colour Grading
- DaVinci Resolve
- Editing and Post-Production
- Visual Storytelling
- Pre-production and Production Planning
- Cinema Studies
There is no set lesson length - if you require a 30-minute brush-up or a series of 8-hour days taught across multiple weeks, I can arrange that for you. I can offer workshops for more in-depth practical sessions or group projects. I offer one-on-one tuition as well as small group lessons, making sessions ideal for friends, classmates, production teams or anyone wanting to learn collaboratively.
My lessons are suitable for:

- Professionals wanting to strengthen their skills
Lessons can take place in the following:
- Online
- On-Campus (MelbPoly Fairfeild)

Whether you want to make your first short film, improve your camera work, develop a screenplay, master DaVinci Resolve, or receive feedback on an existing project, I provide supportive, personalised lessons designed to help you achieve your creative goals with confidence.
