About Lizzy
I have a 2:1 BA degree in English Language and Linguistics having studied at the University of Leeds from 2014-17. I am very passionate about the subject, a huge part of which is due to the outstanding lecturers I had. I would love to deliver the same material to you, in some engaging and interactive tutorials which will hopefully make you enjoy learning and want to actively strive to achieve our goals. I would be described as confident, approachable and driven, which I believe will translate well into tutoring sessions.

I have heard “there is nothing to revise for English” countless times, and despite the fact that English was always my strongest subject at school, I also struggled with the best way to work towards exams. After my three years at University, I could not disagree with the above statement more. In contrast to that stereotype, there is no end of revision for English, in fact, the sole way to improve your English writing is through daily practice. Therefore each week I will ask the student to write a paragraph condensing the words each day to improve clarity and cohesion. I will base a lot of my sessions on chapters from my university textbooks, adapting the exercises to suit the students. The sessions will be interactive with many exercises throughout, and additional questions will be set at the end which we will go through together at the beginning of the next session as a revision recap.
