About Carol
Hello! I'm of Chinese background and I work as a tutor, freelance writer and editor from home.
I can only teach online as I'm still shielding from the pandemic - I'm looking to detach from teaching at uni since everything's going back to in person, and work independently.
I would love to assist you in any English language matters - building confidence and skills in writing, speaking, reading etc. I can also help explain certain Australian/western cultural concepts and politics that I've come to understand as a first generation migrant. My own passion is learning about social movements and revolutions around the world, so if that is your interest too please do connect!

My teaching style is conversational, chill, encouraging, interactive, relevant to what's going on in the world, and tailored to your interests. If you have learning disability and needs I am also happy to do what works for you. My lessons are typically 1-1.5 hours depending on what the student needs.
I've tutored one-on-one, small groups, and classroom settings at University of Melbourne and Monash. I have taught students between ages 18-55, across highschool, university, and postgrad levels.
