About David
I’m a Chemistry student at the University of Michigan with a strong background in mathematics, chemistry, and problem-solving. I have experience tutoring and mentoring students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can initially feel overwhelming. My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while adapting explanations to each student’s learning style. Whether working through algebra, calculus, general chemistry, or organic chemistry, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing genuine understanding rather than memorizing procedures.

More importantly than just explaining concepts, I teach critical thinking: I propose analogous problems and scenarios to break memorization habits and build a student's strength and confidence in a particular subject. I am a firm believer in practice problems and reviewing past mistakes using spaced repetition to ensure long-term understanding and the ability to apply concepts. My lessons are for anyone feeling behind in class/homework, those who want to brush up on older concepts, and/or students who want to get ahead and stay ahead!
