About Sophie
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to make a positive difference in someone's life by helping them gain confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve goals they may not have thought possible. Seeing a student develop their understanding and become more self-assured is incredibly rewarding. My long-term ambition is to qualify as a barrister, a career centred on helping others and advocating on their behalf. Tutoring reflects many of the same values that drew me to the legal profession: clear communication, patience, problem-solving, and supporting people to reach the best possible outcomes. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the subject.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, learning style, and academic goals. I focus on building confidence, developing subject knowledge, and improving exam technique through clear explanations, guided practice, and regular feedback.
For French, I help students strengthen grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. For Law, I focus on understanding key legal principles, applying them effectively, and improving essay and problem-question technique. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, and are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students in both their first and second years of each respective qualification.
