About Maja

My name is Maja and I am an 18-year-old university student with an unwavering passion for Literature. Currently immersed in my first year of university, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Creative Writing. Having graduated from High School last year (2023), I am a young yet dedicated and determined student who is very enthusiastic about assisting others. Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently excelled in English assessments. Some of my strengths lie in diverse forms of writing, including creative writing, essay and report writing.

Moreover, pursuing a career as a teacher has long been a consideration for me, as I genuinely enjoy engaging with and assisting children. Therefore, tutoring my students would offer valuable experience should I decide to pursue teaching further down the road. Ultimately, tutoring offers me a profound opportunity for personal growth as I embark on a valuable learning journey through teaching others.

About the lesson

As a visual learner I am always drawing diagrams, mind maps and brainstorms when studying and revising content. This improves my retention of information and I also find it is a more engaging way to learn. Hence, my teaching methodology would consist of helping students break concepts down visually through brainstorming techniques and this is beneficial as it stimulates a quicker and enhanced comprehension of information when learning. Pictorial representations of information are a very valuable skill to learn and guarantees success.

The length of a session with me is 1 hour. Although depending on the students needs, I am perfectly able to do more than an hour if required. I am open to tutor any grade from 7-12, although my ideal grades would be 10-12 as I graduated last year (2023), therefore my memory is still fresh with content from my senior years.

Although I have never tutored before, I am one of six kids in my family and being that my biggest passion is literature and English is my strongest subject, I have helped my siblings over the years with their English studies. With English being my strongest skill, I have the ability to use this as an advantage to help others who struggle with this subject.
