About Joanna

My name is Joanna and I am currently studying Biochemistry and Genetics at Swansea University (just finished second year). I'm hard working, enthusiastic and reliable. I come across very bubbly and chatty which makes me ideal for working with children as well as adults. I am more than happy to help with the children's homework (primary and secondary school level). I am around over the summer and willing to work odd hours or random nights, just to help out as much as possible. I have never done tutoring for people outside my school however, I was a maths and science tutor for the younger years at Thomas Hardye School and during Sixth form. I have also grown up teaching younger cousins and relatives so am not a stranger to the tantrums that come with the job!! Not only would this benefit you as a family but it will also help me out gaining experience with children as I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher.
I have A*-B grade in 15 GCSEs, A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics and a 2:1 in my first year of my degree

About the lesson

I believe that everyone learns differently. We can figure out the best way you/your child learns and take that approach. As I am only 21 it means that I will have probably learnt the content more recently than other tutors.

Joanna has been tutoring my son GCSE Biology for the last 6 months and she is amazing! He absolutely adores her and his confidence (and grades) has massively improved since she has been helping! Joanna is an amazing, she tutored my son twice a week in maths and we already started to see an improvement in his grades after only about 2 weeks. He had been gaining around 38-44% on his maths exams (shocking I know!!) In his latest test after having Joanna as a tutor he has improved to getting 65%. She is very friendly makes the content very understandable. We will continue having her as our tutor gladly!!!!
