About Ed Ian Jay
Hi! I’m Ed Ian, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student at the University of the Philippines Mindanao. I’m passionate about learning and sharing what I know with students in a simple, practical, and approachable way.
I have a background in Filipino campus journalism, having competed and earned recognition in journalism competitions from the local level to national conferences. This experience helped me develop strong skills in writing, communication, research, and critical thinking.
Alongside writing, I have experience in computer science and technology, particularly in programming, web development, databases, and cloud technologies. I enjoy breaking down complex topics into easier-to-understand concepts and guiding students step-by-step rather than simply giving them the answers.
As a tutor, my goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, practice, and gradually build confidence in their abilities. I adjust my teaching approach based on each student's needs, learning pace, and goals.
